Welcome to Glory Be.

My name is Marla Cook and I have been folk-art painting, making massive wreathes and refinishing antiques for over 28 years.  I sold at craft shows while traveling around with my military husband (now retired) and 3 children for over 20 years. We have a son and son in law in the military and another son who works closely with the military, so we always love and support our military and families any way we can.

In 2004, a cute shop with a great front porch and bay windows came available in a charming  town near us named Historic Occoquan, Virginia. It had my name written all over it and I had to have it!

Unfortunately, or fortunately, at the same time as I was starting the shop I had to have chemo and a second transplant. It was rough and didn't go well. However, I had a phenomenal group of friends, family, and prayers from people I didn't know,  who provided meals and support.

The store became Glory Be and has lived up to its name ever since. We are open 7 days a week with over 20 crafters, a wood carver, a soap maker, handmade table runners and pillows, stitchery's, silver and pewter and so much more plus of course all our fabulous antiques, vintage books and hand painted furniture , chairs and other items by me!!!

Come see us, have a good time, we'll make you smile. Glory Be!
